My "Friday Off"

Hitting the ground running. Here's an interesting phenomenon. Why is it that we schedule things around vacations and breaks? The kids are out of school this week, so we set up dentist appointments for the girls. The Tall One is going for her second session today. Fillings. Ick.

I am a horrible patient, especially when it comes to the dentist. Once I finally force myself into that chair, after the cleaning my mouth feels great. It's getting there that's the struggle. I'm not good with doctor visits, either - we think it's because I worked for them for so long. Healthcare professionals do not make good patients, and I'm not just making a generalization. I know this first hand.

Working while I wait. I am going to make good use of the 2-1/2 hours I have to sit in our dentist's tee-tiny waiting room, however. The bag is packed: CD player, two Beethoven CDs (Symphonies 3, 4, 7 & 8 if you must know), notepad and pens, and the three books and press sheets on two movies I need to write reviews for. Alas, the laptop has croaked, else I would be working on the manuscript. This is the perfect opportunity, though, because I do need to get these reviews written, and this will render my excuses for procrastination useless.

I also need to pull some questions together for my next author interview, and I'm both excited and nervous about this one. He's charming, affable ... and a reporter. Grimace.

I can't interview a reporter. His response when I told him this was, "Oh, sure you can!"

I'm looking forward to it, Mark.

It's sunshiney again here in Middle Tennessee. If you can see it, enjoy it. And read a book. It's good for you.

=) JB
