Fresh Air, Sunshine and the '80s

The walk. I tried something a little different this morning - took Little Bit's portable CD player with me on the walk. Popped in my "#1 Hits of the 80s" CD - lots of good ones on that disc, great music to walk to. And I found myself still hearing the birds, even looking up more than usual. It was another perfect blue sky day, not too cold (not like yesterday morning), little in the way of clouds. I noticed an old barn in a field on the other side of the subdivision that looked like it had fallen down a little more since the last time I really noticed it. Kind of sad, in a way, mostly because it reminds me of my Grandpa's old farm in north central Indiana, and the barn where my brother and our cousins and I used to play. Man, that seems like a long time ago.

The day. Not as productive as it could have been. The first part of the morning found me finishing my read of Vinnie's Head by Marc Lecard. What a book. I mean, really, wow. Wicked funny ... in a demented, disturbing sort of way. It's on sale now - go getcha a copy, but be warned, it's not for the faint of heart. Humor galore, yes, but underneath the wicked wit is a rather dark theme with some pretty gruesome visual connotations. I won't say much more here, as I'm going to be doing a review for RTE in the near future. If you can handle it, just read it.

The group. So, I managed to spruce up the synopsis a tad, and printed off my multiple copies of that and the first chapter for the group tonight. They seemed to like it. The QS says I'm twisted - asked me whether my family knew I wrote stuff like this. Heh, heh, heh. I'm thinking this is a good sign. Maybe JT's right. Maybe this is the book. One can hope ...

The interview. This announcement, I'm ultra-excited about. Just heard back today from my latest victim ... er, guest for the Lunch Room interviews. Be sure to stop in on Friday for this one - you definitely won't want to miss it. And am I going to tell you who it is?

Yep.

Tomorrow.

In the meantime, read a book. It's good for you.

=) JB
