I managed somehow, somewhere between working at breakneck speed on the WIP on Friday and waking up Saturday morning, to contract the chest cold from Hades. The up side of being sick is that it requires some time spent resting, the concept of which I took advantage to its fullest. I was a total couch potato this weekend. You probably noticed I didn't even manage to drag myself up here to the JBTAuthor study to post. I did, however, call my Dad on Father's Day. Did you?
Sunday morning The Tall One left for her last high school basketball team camp, the WGH took The Boy and Little Bit to church, and I took a hot shower and some cold medicine, put on comfies and crawled back into bed. Watched two hours' worth of Whose Line Is It Anyway? (the original British version, mind you) on BBC-America. They say laughter is good medicine. I'm feeling much better now.
While I was recovering, my Literary Siblings and their buddy Jason Pinter launched the Killer Year website and blog yesterday (note I did manage to add the links to the left in addition to getting Susan McBride's terrific interview up). If you haven't seen what this is all about yet, hop over and take a gander.
I'm whittling down my to-do list so that I can concentrate on those things that need my attention in the most immediate sense (those things besides my children - Little Bit is going to church camp next week - insert separation anxiety here). The WIP is first on the list, as usual. When that's done and in J.T.'s hands, I'm going to take a break from writing for a bit and try to catch up on my reading. My TBR pile is daunting at best. I'm not one of those people who can generally read several books at a time, and yet there are four books on my nightstand that all have bookmarks in various places. It's that nasty habit I have of not finishing things I start trying to creep back into my life again. Back! Back, you savage!
Music of the Moment: William Tell Overture (Conclusion), Rossini
Read a book. It's good for you.
