Get Bach to Work!

I'm diving into the WIP with Johann in the boom box. Nothing like a little Toccata and Fugue to get the creative juices flowing.

My deadline is Monday - Sunday, really, because Monday I have to pull my shift early (6-10 AM, yikes) and then we're off to the lake to spend Memorial Day with my in-laws. Annual tradition. A nice getaway, although it's not so much a getaway for me as it used to be now that I'm not working full-time - more so for the WGH, who likes every once in a while to get a break from the phones and worrying about the store and all.

Anyway, since it's Friday I'm not locked into a schedule and can do what needs to be done - if it runs into dinnertime, so be it. We're working on a deadline, here! No matter that it's self-imposed. Or J.T.-imposed, as the case may be. Got the kick-in-the-seat email from her this morning.

I'm on it, I'm on it!

Read a book. It's good for you.

=) JB

Oh, now I'm not a monster, really. It was a purely selfish move on my part. I want to read this book. We've been workshopping it from the beginning, but so much has changed, and it's grown and flourished. Ahem, that's not all that grows and flourishes in this one, if you know what I mean.
So finish the damn thing already. :)

Besides, y'all will be recruited to kick my ass when the time is right. Type faster JT, type faster...

I in no way intended to portray JT as a "monster" - when I said "kick in the seat", it was one of those encouraging emails that gets me jump started and motivated! I need that every once in a while.

And yes, a lot has changed, grown and flourished in this book, but it still needs a heck of a lot of work! That's where she'll come in, and I do need to get it to her, while she still has time before she has to dive into her own stuff.

And when that time comes, you can bet your sweet bippy I'll be on the other side of the equation, sending HER the encouraging kick in the seat emails ...

But isn't it a lot more fun if we pretend she is an evil task master? Reality be damned, we're ficition writers.
